I will teach and preach and do as missionaries do!

Deuteronomy 31:6

"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be aftaid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

Week 23

Hey everyone, how's things going for ya'll? Hope things are going pretty good. Things are going pretty good out here. Not to much happened this past week, and it went by really fast, because I had to go on two different trade off's which always make the week go by faster. We've been working hard to find some people to teach, and we’ve been finding some people, but won’t know if they really want to learn until next time we go to see them. I hope so. Tracting all day isn’t the most fun thing in the world, that’s for darn sure. Well hope everything is going good for everyone, and don’t do nothing I wouldn’t do! Sorry for no cool stories this week

Week 22

How ya'll doin? I got transferred to Waycross, GA – a small city of about 20,000 people. I am not too sure how to handle myself. It’s very different than what I’m used to, that’s for sure! But the people are way nice out here. I am kind of bummed that I got transferred, but it’s all good. Let’s see… this past week we had a pretty cool thing happen to us. Elder Neville and I were going to see this referral that a member gave to us. We went in the morning and no one was home. Then, later on in the day we decided to go try again. On the way, there was a family outside playing, we waved not really planning on stopping, but one guy waved us down and ran over to us. He was like, "Ya'll Latter Day Saints?" We were like "Sure are" He was like, "Ya'll don’t happen to have a Book of Mormon that I could have, do you?" We were kind of shocked, and told him we did. He told us that he had just gotten out of jail not too long ago, and found the Book of Mormon there, and read 1 & 2 Nephi and loved it. He said it helped him out a lot. He also loved the tree of life and how it explained a lot of things. So we taught him briefly and set up a time to come back. He wants to learn more and is way excited. Outside of that, I’m still getting to know the area and people, but it should be a pretty fun time here. We went fishing and snake hunting this morning and that was fun. I didn’t catch anything but it was still fun. Well I love you all, remember me as the sun sets and it’s still nice and bright back in Vegas, because it’s pitch black here!  Kind of like a zombie movie or something! J

Week 21

Well another week has gone by, I can’t believe it. So this week we started teaching this guy named Brad - he’s a cool guy. He's really interested in knowing more about life after this life, and after learning a little bit about it he wants all of it haha! So we've been teaching him and set a baptism date for April 25th. Brad is way excited and really cool. Other than that we've just been working. We are doing what we can to help the ward out as well. hmm... well transfer calls came in Saturday night and I’m leaving, 5 months here and I’m leaving now. Kinda sad, but cool at the same time. I don’t know where I’m going until tomorrow though, that’s the only scary part. Anyway, not much else, so I hope everyone is doing good!

Week 20

Well everyone how’s it going? Things here have been really good. Thanks for all the birthday wishes.. I can’t believe I'm 21! That's just crazy. No more birthdays for me, that's for sure, just anniversary’s from now on. Well this week has been good. We've found a few new people to start teaching, They all seem really cool. This past Saturday, just after the last session of conference we went out tracting for a bit, and found this one young couple. They said we could come back Sunday morning. So Sunday morning comes around, and as we ride up to their home and they were in their car, and the thought "Great, they were trying to leave before we got there!" went through my head. So we started talking with them and they said that they were just cleaning out the car and invited us in. We taught them the first lesson, and they seemed really interested. But the cooler part is that they made cinnamon rolls for us. That put them up a few points in my book :) Other than that, not to much really going on. we are still visiting with Jon and Natalie, they are great, and really like church. They just have to get married when they feel ready, to get baptized. Andy Jones was sick this weekend so he wasn’t able to see conference, but is still doing good also. So I hope everyone is having a great time, and all of you better have watched conference! If I can sit through all the sessions, then anyone can! haha..
Love you all,
Elder Holcombe
